In this assignment, we were asked to create a lesson plan and a worksheet where students could experience augmented reality and reflect on their experience in groups of four. We were required to choose a city, introduce two landmarks, one museum, and one cultural aspect of the city in the worksheet. In addition, we needed to provide students with sources to access 360° or 3D models of the selected places or objects.

My groupmates, Arda, Melisa, Zülal, and I selected Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand, as our target city. We introduced a palace, a temple and a national museum, and provided the access to their 360° models. QR codes allowing students to explore the 360° models of the two landmarks and the museum were placed on each relevant page. As the cultural aspect, we chose foods that are special to Bangkok and provided access to 3D models of each food item. We included follow-up questions to ensure that students actively engage in the procedure and explore the places. The discussion sections aim to encourage students to interact with each other and share their experiences.

We did not face any major difficulties, as all the digital materials were ready-made. We mainly needed to conduct research on websites and digital resources and select the most suitable ones by testing their accessibility, usability and feasibilty. I found this task easier comparing to previous assignments in which we created the digital materials ourselves. We spent the most time on deciding on the design, creating the initial plan collaboratively and designing the worksheet together.

My teammates and I used Google Docs to design the ASSURE model lesson plan, Canva to design the worksheet, QR Code Generator to create the QR codes, 360stories to provide students with 360 models, and Sketchfab for 3D models of the foods.
