Discover your inner SOUL: Film Review Collaborative Writing Task

This week's ICT task was a collaborative writing activity. Through this task, we became familiar with using Google Docs and learned how to work together on the same document online as a group.

For the task, we were supposed to write a film review as a group of three on the same document. I completed this task with Melisa and Zülal. We watched the film Soul by Pixar, and each of us wrote one paragraph. Then, we reviewed each other's paragraphs and combined our parts to create a unified review. For the final paragraph, which was the overall conclusion, we wrote it together as a group. While working on Google Docs, i did not encounter any major difficulties since it was not my first time using the program. However, we did not work on the document simultaneously, so i did not experience how convenient it can be when used by multiple people at the same time. Overall, working on the Google Docs was convenient and easy.

Then, after we completed our review, we were supposed to share it with another group and receive feedback on our writing. I only struggled to see the other group's comments, apart from that, everything was again really convenient and easy.

To conclude, Google Docs was a great choice for collaborative writing. This task helped me improve my collaborative and editing skills. Finally, combining the emotions and ideas of three people into a single writing was much more interesting and easier than i initially expected. Reviewing my group members’ work taught me how to give feedback, and reading their comments helped me see my writing from a different perspective and revise it.
