The Next Chapter:Digital Story

The next chapter of my journey into the tech world was creating a digital story. This task felt like a slightly harder version of the podcast, and it was a group project, so my two classmates, Saliha and Pelin, and I created the digital story together. Just like with the podcast, we started with choosing a topic, writing a script, recording our voices, editing the audio—and this time, also adding visuals related to the topic.

We decided to make a public service announcement (PSA), which is a short video that shares an important message with the public. Our topic was social anxiety, that is a fast-growing mental health issue among young adults. We explained what social anxiety is, its negative effects, and offered possible solutions.

I didn’t face any big difficulties during the project. The video editing part was a bit time-consuming, but I actually enjoyed it. We used #Capcut application for editing. The most fun part was matching the visuals to the right moments in the audio. On the other hand, finding the right background music was the most difficult part.

Overall, this task was eye-opening and very useful for me as a future teacher. I realized how powerful digital tools can be in sharing ideas and raising awareness. Also, I understood that visual literacy is an essential skill for both students and teachers. I look forward to using these skills in my own classroom one day.

Here is our public service announcement:
